| Automatic traymaker has feature to ensure proper trayforming and maximum stacking strength August 26, 2004 Variations in corrugated quality are a way of life for most industrial packagers, and out of spec trays can create problems including downtime at the packer and unstable pallet loads. To help packagers cope with this situation, A-B-C has designed a traymaker to accommodate out of spec tray blanks and still form square trays. The secret is the adjustable forming mandrel, standard equipment on the Model 65, which allows packagers to adjust the mandrel for slightly out of spec tray blanks. Rather than force the corrugated to fit a fixed mandrel and cause crooked sidewalls and sloppy seals, the Model 65's mandrel is easily adapted to varying shipments of corrugated. This feature ensures that each tray will be formed with straight vertical side walls for optimum tray packing and strong, stable pallet loads. This compact machine can simply replace an RSC or HSC case former on packaging lines, allowing the packager to switch to tray packaging without a large capital expenditure and complete line overhaul. With this machine, packagers can reduce their corrugated costs by 50%, reduce shipping costs, and offer an environmentally sensitive solution for shipping their products. This robust machine is designed and built for rigorous production with minimal wear.
