Model 170 Traypacker Offers Speed And Flexibility

January 10, 2004

This versatile machine packs rigid and semi-rigid containers including glass and plastic bottles and jars, chipboard and shrink-wrapped cartons and composite, paperboard and aseptic containers into a variety of corrugated tray types including display, half height and full height.

The compact design of the Model 170, (16'-7" long) makes it easy to fit this packer into the line layout. Operation is simplified with a low level, easy load tray magazine, which is designed for refill at any time during operation. Precise operation is ensured with a magazine design that lifts each tray from the top of the stack and transfers it by heavy duty front and rear flight lugs throughout loading and sealing. Easy open "gull wing" style guard doors are standard equipment, offering machine containment, yet ensuring easy access when required.

A product "lockout device" maintains incoming product clear of the accumulation station to ensure precise loading. Harmonic motion drive is utilized to transfer the packed tray from loading to sealing, to ensure the stability of every product load. Steel folding arms securely square and seal each tray around the product load, for tight-packed trays that palletize well. Safeguards switch the packer to standby mode if the tray or product supply is interrupted, allowing the machine to resume operation automatically when supply returns.

Sensors monitor container feed, positioning and tray sealing to maintain consistent operation. A tubular steel machine frame provides stability and strength while eliminating catch points for dust accumulation, to maintain cleanliness for food plant requirements. Maintenance requirements are minimized by the use of maintenance-free sealed bearings, lubricated air cylinders, air inlet filter regulator and Venturi vacuum system.
