| Compact case erector for high speed packaging lines November 13, 2003 A-B-C has introduced a case erector that automatically erects and seals up to 50 cases per minute, to fulfill high speed packaging requirements. Yet the Model 450 is a very compact machine, requiring only 16’ 9” of linear floor space. Packed inside its solid frame is a workhorse machine, with a 3 horsepower main drive motor powering the mechanical case drive. A separate 1 horsepower motor drives the mechanical case sealing ram, to provide accurate and reliable sealing at high speeds. Loaded with features to accommodate less than perfect cases, the 450 utilizes a mechanical opening arm that over-opens case flaps to ensure smooth flap closing. A walking beam case drive “squares” cases as they are transferred from opening through sealing. The low level case magazine has an ergonomic design that makes refills simple without lifting and raising cases. It is equipped with a built-in auxiliary magazine that assures a continuous supply of cases to the erector, minimizing the attention of line personnel. A-B-C’s intelligent control system operates the Model 450, providing accurate control of the machine, and a color touchscreen operator panel provides real-time operating data plus independent operation of all functions, diagnostics and changeover settings. |
